Doll Quilt Swap Update

Many of the swappers have been busier on their quilts than me, it seems! With about a week and a half until the sending deadline, some Doll Quilt Swap participants have been posting their progress, and the quilts look wonderful!

Liz has already completed the swap cycle (!), having both sent a lovely, vibrant quilt to Kristin and received wonderful appliqued quilt from Lynn.

Speaking of Lynn, she has a funny oops! story about making the quilt on her site.

Monica’s WIP is peeking shyly from beneath some crochet supplies, but its cuteness can’t be concealed!

Marisa is working on an imaginative and colorful applique quilt.

Look at Sarah‘s pieced-embroidered-appliqued creation! That brown Sonnet fabric is one of my faves.

And here’s Maitreya‘s doll quilt: her coin design really highlights those great prints.

Finally, here’s my work in progress:

I decided to try curved piecing on this small project. It’s pretty time consuming, but I love the results! I’m off from work on Monday, so I should have it at least pieced by then. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.

  1. mine is done and has been sent yesterday!!

  2. some really beautiful work going on here. i wish i’d had the time to join, perhaps for the next one…

  3. Your WIP looks great. Can’t wait to see the finished quilt!

  4. I love it, Lisa! I wanted to participate in this swap, but I am going to test my quilting skills on a major project first instead, because I am ridiculously full of eyes-bigger-than-stomach sometimes.

    ;)

Maybe during the summer, we could have a wee little doll quilt swap?

I’ll be using all of your links for quilt tips, too.

  5. Lisa, your work in progress is so impressive. Who ever is your partner is a lucky girl. My quilt is 99% done (must do some tiny more embelishments with some decorative hand stitches still) but cannot wait to mail it off this weekend. You are a total DOLL yourself for organizing this. Doll quilt swap organizers go directly to heaven you know! Anyhow, thanks for doing this for all of us. What fun!
